Following our third annual call for nominations, The Enrollment Management Association’s Board of  Trustees selected four new members. “It is truly a testament to The Enrollment Management Association’s strength that we were faced with such a capable and diverse group from which to choose, and we chose carefully those people who brought the skills and expertise we were seeking in this year’s class,” remarked new board Chair Kilian Forgus, St. Andrew’s School (FL). New trustees participated in an orientation and onboarding session at The Enrollment Management Association’s offices in April.

LINDA COOK

Linda Cook retired from Educational Testing Service, Princeton, NJ, in 2010 after 32 years of employment. Linda served in a number of roles while employed by ETS including Vice President of Assessment and Director of the Center for Validity Research. Currently, Linda serves on a number of advisory panels including the Technical Advisory Committee of the Partnership for Assessments of Readiness for College and Career (PARCC) Consortia. Linda earned a B.S. in chemistry at Ursinus College, a master’s degree in education of the deaf from Smith College, and a doctorate in educational measurement and statistics from the University of Massachusetts.

LAUREL BAKER TEW 

Laurel Baker Tew is the Chief Enrollment Officer and Director of Admission and Financial Aid at her alma mater, Viewpoint School, one of the largest independent schools in California. Prior to arriving at Viewpoint in 2003, Laurel worked for 19 years in positions of successive responsibility at the University of Southern California’s office of admission, culminating as USC’s Director of Admission. Laurel is a two-time past chair of the Los Angeles Consortium of Independent School Admission Directors, and is a member of the Institute for Educational Advancement’s Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship Committee. Laurel is a proud Trojan with bachelors and master’s degrees in French from USC, and she is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and The USC Associates.

PRISCILLA SANDS 

Priscilla Sands is the president of Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (SCH) in Philadelphia, PA, known nationally for its innovative Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL). Prior to becoming president of SCH, Priscilla served for 15 years as head of all-girls Springside School, which merged in 2011 with neighboring all-boys Chestnut Hill Academy. Before Springside, she taught English for 11 years at Agnes Irwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA, while also serving as director of admission and financial aid and then assistant head of school. She is on the board of Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School, the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools, and the Headmistresses Association of the East. Priscilla earned her master’s degree from Villanova University and her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.

AMY SAYFIE ZICHELLA

Amy Sayfie Zichella is in her thirteenth year at Ransom Everglades School in Miami, Florida, where she serves as the Director of Admission. She previously served as the co-chair of The Enrollment Management Association’s Computer-based Testing Committee and as a member of the Admission Leadership Council. Amy started her career in education teaching middle school and high school English and coaching volleyball, basketball, and track. Prior to joining Ransom Everglades School in 2001, she spent five years teaching and coaching at Miami Country Day School. She also was a teacher and dean of students for the Summerbridge/Breakthrough Program. Amy was named as one of the Top 30 rising stars and young leaders in the City of Miami. She graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in English and education with a minor in Spanish.
