Her research focuses on applications and evaluations of latent variable models for educational and social-psychological research.Her methodological research focuses on construct validity and measurement practices—particularly psychometric models for measurement invariance, complex data structures, instrument design, and transparency. She also has substantive lines of research focusing on achievement motivation and measurement issues in face perception.
