Welcome to EMA’s Member Minute, where I’ll be teaching you an actionable strategy, tip, trick, or hack to help you meet your enrollment goals and all that in about a minute.

Have you ever come off a break feeling refreshed until you look at your email inbox and then you start feeling overwhelmed? It turns out systemic burnout for you or your team isn’t prevented by a vacation alone. In her book, The Burnout Epidemic Jennifer Moss describes six causes of systemic burnout at work: overwork yes, but also lack of control or micromanagement, insufficient recognition or reward for effort, loneliness, and mismatched values and skills.

The good news? You can do something about this! To get started try having a conversation with your team not only about workload but also about other factors that contribute to institutional burnout. And if you want you can even listen to a podcast we recorded with Jennifer Moss
