Archdiocese of Boston Member Minute: Attrition
Welcome to The Archdiocese of Boston Member Minute where I’ll be teaching you an actionable strategy, tip, trick, or hack, to help you meet your enrollment goals and all that in about a minute. There’s an old saying in admissions: you can’t fill a leaky bucket. As you work to enroll new students you also need to make sure you’re keeping the ones you already have. But it can be hard to understand why families don’t return to your school and what you should do about it.
That’s why I’ve collected three resources I hope you’ll find valuable:
- First of all, there’s a spreadsheet you can use to calculate your attrition and compare it to a regional New England benchmark to see where you stack up.
- Next, there’s a tracker you can use to understand how many families might be thinking about departing the school, what their concerns are, and where you should be focusing your retention efforts.
- Finally, there’s a slide deck you can use to share your findings with your faculty or board.
I hope you’ll find these resources helpful as you work to meet your enrollment goals! If you have questions about this or any other topic please feel free to reach out to me in the Catholic Schools group in EMA’s Member Community!
