SSATB Around the World

Enrollment management, research, and assessments are hot topics at all independent and private schools, whether they are stateside, in Canada, or around the world.

The Enrollment Management Association Executive Director Heather Hoerle was invited to present at the Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA) conference in Abu Dhabi. She presented to heads of school, enrollment leaders, other administrators, and faculty of international schools on The Enrollment Management Association’s recent International School Admission Industry Report and on the development of The Enrollment Management Association’s Character Skills Assessment. Heather then headed off to the UK to visit TASIS – The American School in England and ACS International School.

Aimee Gruber, The Enrollment Management Association’s Senior Director of Outreach, had her own adventure through Asia and the Middle East. Aimee started her trip in Thailand, presenting the International School Admission Industry Report at the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) Conference in Bangkok, followed by exhibiting at the TABS Boarding School Fair.

Her next jaunt brought her to Vietnam, where she visited both offices of The Enrollment Management Association’s country master distributor American Education Group (AEG), hosted by former The Enrollment Management Association board member Tom Southworth. She visited United Nations International School and Concordia International School in Hanoi and caught up with administrator Rich Sherwood there, visited the International School of Ho Chi Minh City, South Saigon International School, the International School Ho Chi Minh City – American Academy, and wrapped up her day with another TABS Fair.

Shanghai was the next stop, with Shanghai International Schools at Concordia International School of Shanghai, where she met with new The Enrollment Management Association trustee Nicholas Kent, and Shanghai American School. She presented to international school admission and marketing professionals in Shanghai, then jetted to Jeju Island and Seoul to visit the Korea International School, and presented the global survey of international school admission operations at the Korea Council of Overseas Schools Admission JAM (Job Alike Meeting) hosted at the Seoul Foreign School.While in Korea, she met with SSAT country master distributor Learn 21.

At the end of October, Aimee presented at the CGC Learners and Storytellers conference in Bucharest and visited ECIS in Brussels. At press time, Aimee was wrapping up her trip in Amman, Jordan, where she will stay for the SSAT November test administration at King’s Academy.
