Learn how prospective students and parents view the college placement records of schools they are considering and their over-reliance on college admission results. We will discuss the different ways that secondary schools can present and discuss their college matriculations in order to help families understand the college admission landscape, the philosophy of the secondary school and its approach to college admission, and the kinds of colleges and universities graduates tend to attend. We will discuss pitfalls of featuring college placements, avoiding them, or obscuring them. Our hope is
to connect admission counselors with college guidance and to stress the importance of the school leadership team including the directors of college counseling and admission in their strategic planning, communications, and recruitment processes.
