With Metta Dael, Director of International Admission, Northfield Mount Hermon School(MA) & Gretchen Herbst, Director of Admissions, Admiral Farragut Academy (FL)
With global population growth and unstable economies, more American schools are recruiting students from abroad to diversify their student body and to subsidize school expenses. Yet, as more boarding schools move abroad to recruit international students, obtaining a good representation from different countries proves to be difficult. In addition, schools are often unprepared – albeit unknowingly – to adequately work with these students. This workshop focuses on building recruitment initiatives through supportive programming for international students. Participants will learn successful strategies to launch recruitment initiatives in new countries and highretention marketing and recruitment to meet families’ educational and cultural needs. Participants will work in small groups to brainstorm new strategies, discuss positive outcomes, and best practices.
