In this interactive session, participants have an opportunity to role-play. Specific scenarios describe difficult constraints/issues regarding an applicant’s profile, but participants have limited time to come up with a plan in dealing with the applicant’s parents. The goal is to underscore the importance of early planning and admission process review to ensure that admission officers don’t get placed in these situations (to the extent possible). Time is left to talk in greater detail about tough cases, to invite discussion, and to share ideas for revamping the admission process to ameliorate the tension surrounding the delivery of tough decisions.
