Admission professionals pride themselves on discerning “the right fit.” When it comes to students of color, however, there are numerous mitigating factors that ultimately determine whether or not they are successful in our programs
and institutions. This workshop examines what those factors are, how they can manifest themselves in behavior and community involvement, and ways in which schools can structure and provide the best possible support mechanisms
for academic and social success.
