Director of Enrollment Management, Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences (CA)Eric Barber

Eric is currently serving as the first director of enrollment management at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences (California). A musician by training, Eric began his career at the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles. Eric then moved to Lakeside School (Washington), where he served as the lead outreach coordinator during Lakeside's ambitious Mission Focus strategic plan that greatly diversified the school while also increasing the academic qualifications of the applicant pool. Eric also worked to incorporate elements of Dr. Robert Sternberg's successful intelligence theory into the admission process, so as to identify attributes key to academic and emotional success. Eric then served as director of admission and enrollment management at the Evergreen School (Washington).  In addition to his work at individual schools, Eric has championed collaboration among schools to raise the visibility of independent education and to streamline the admission process for families. He is a founding co-chair of the Puget Sound Independent Schools consortium. He holds a bachelor of arts in music from the University of Oregon and a master of fine arts from the California Institute for the Arts.
