Associate Product Manager
The Associate Product Manager plays a pivotal role in helping to define and implement product solutions for our independent school families, member schools and key partners. This person will be responsible for a range of product initiatives, from driving product growth alongside the product team to optimizing operational functionality and improving end-user experiences. This position requires an individual who embraces teamwork and collaboration (with a good humored team!), while also being a strong individual performer, leading efforts to identify, triage and address the needs of users to ensure product success.
This role will work closely with our product, design, technology, assessment and other internal teams in the development of new product lines and to deliver meaningful product improvements that meet our organizational goals.
The ideal candidate should be eager to investigate and solve problems, motivated to continually learn and improve, highly organized, an excellent communicator and results-driven.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal team members to define and implement product strategies and operational efficiencies that meet organizational goals.
- Drive product development to address key external user needs, including improved functionality, engagement, usability and customer delight.
- Drive product development to address key internal user needs, including greater efficiency and time savings in product operations.
- Serve as a primary product resource for internal team members, collaborating to ascertain product needs and address problems with user-focused solutions.
- Gather and analyze stakeholder and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement or new product development
- Gather, define and translate detailed product requirements to the development team and ensure timely completion of prioritized deliverables.
- Manage product development efforts by collaborating with product owners, designers, programmers, engineers, and other team members to deliver solutions
- Develop content and solutions to address gaps in usability.
- Partner with cross-functional team to develop marketing campaigns, pricing structures and promotional opportunities to increase sales of existing products or introduce new products to the market
- Continually groom product backlogs and prioritize key efforts with internal stakeholders.
- Continually document critical product updates, training artifacts and knowledge base articles that will support the end-user journey and inform internal stakeholders.
- Conduct training for internal and external users as needed.
- Routinely communicate product updates and provide product information to key stakeholders for awareness and marketing purposes.
- Help define end-user surveys, conduct market research and gather product usage data.
- Synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Help inform processes to drive scalability and efficiency in product operations.
- Partner with product and technology teams to drive operational excellence.
- Perform other related product management and operations duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field; ideally 1-2 years experience or equivalent. Successful internships in product related work preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information in an easily understandable format for various audiences.
- Highly organized and adept at multitasking.
- Strong desire to meet deliverables and deadlines.
- Experience developing and nurturing interpersonal relationships across teams to enhance collaboration and partnership opportunities.
- Desire to be the champion of new product deliverables as well as operational efficiencies across the organization.
- Adapting to and challenging the current situation if needed.
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
- Strong project management, facilitation and documentation skills.
- Proficient use of Google Drive/Sheets/Docs, Jira, Clickup, or other tools for product management, requirements gathering and documentation
- Experience working in product management or operations for K-12/academic markets preferred
- Experience in product management or product data analysis experience preferred
Salary: 90K to 110K
Work Location: Remote
Traveling: 25% or less travel
